Hell-o,

So we are almost finished with the sessions for the new DEW-SCENTED studio album „Invocation“.
What a heavy month!!! Not sure if we mentioned this before, but we actually did the old-school thing and entered a recording studio from start to finish of the session, so we have actually spent all of February working our asses off to record a total of 15 songs and some intro stuff at Soundlodge Studios with producer Jörg Uken and things went just great so far!

We recorded a ton of guitars and here you can see Martin and Michael tracking some of their parts:

In the meantime, we are happy to announce DEW-SCENTED’s return to Portugal for two shows at the end of March. We had an awesome ride the two last times we went over there and we again look forward to meeting old and new friends in beautiful and hopefully sunny Portugal! Good evening everyone…

So yeah, Dew-Scented are finally in the studio recording a new album!

After some last preparations in our rehearsal room this past weekend, we started tracking drums at Soundlodge Studios with Jörg Uken on Monday. It’s fucking freezing outside, but in terms of drumming things are going great so far and Marc-Andrée is on fire!

The material for this new album is INTENSE and the drumming pretty demanding, so it’s gonna be fun working some more on this one…

By the way, we can now reveal as well that the new album will be entitled „Invocation“. Our buddie and longterm partner in all visual matters Björn at killustrations.com has already prepared some killer artwork concept as well! We are super stoked with the results…

In other news, Dew-Scented have been confirmed to return to France’s awesome Hellfest Open Air this year. We will be appearing on Saturday, June 19th and the line-up includes bands like Arch Enemy, Atheist, Behemoth, Godflesh, Immortal, KISS, Nevermore, SOIA, Twisted Sister and lots more! More info:

That gig completely sold out within a couple of days only and promises to be a blast!

German Thrash Metallers DEW-SCENTED have signed a European deal with Metal Blade Records for the release of their upcoming, still untitled new studio album.

The band comments the signing as follows: „We are happy to finally be able to announce that we have just signed a new deal with Metal Blade for Europe! We have known the European staff at Metal Blade for many years already and considering the label’s massive history in Metal as well as the fact that their current repertoire includes several cool bands that we have toured with throughout the years like Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse or God Dethroned, we look forward to this new co-operation and are excited about the release of our next album, which we will be recorded in the coming weeks.“

Andreas Reissnauer of Metal Blade Europe adds: “DEW-SCENTED is a driving force in European Thrash Metal. A band that delivered excellent records through the years and is always giving 110 % on stage. Being fans and friends of the band since day one we are excited to finally be able to work with DEW-SCENTED in the future. The best is yet to come!”

DEW-SCENTED are entering Soundlodge Studios in Northern Germany in February with producer Jörg Uken (God Dethroned, Sinister, etc.), who has previously engineered the band’s latest album „Incinerate“ in 2007, to record their long-awaited new studio album. A release date is planned for May 2010.

Happy new year 2010! May it be a heavy and intense one in a good way for all of us ;-)

We are working on the last details of the songwriting for the new album at full speed right now. We start recording February 1st, so look out for messages from the studio when we begin!

A last message for this year, just coming back home from some intense days of DEW-SCENTED rehearsals. We are currently working our way through 12 new own songs and some extra tracks. The album recordings are coming up in February. Can’t wait…

Incarcerated!

Hey everone!

Why lie? We have been ‚slow’ and also distracted as far as public relations
;-)

But that’s because we are busy…

First of all, thanks to everyone who attended and shared some good times at the last bunch of shows we played. Especially returning to our former D-S home-base Braunschweig to meet our old companions in the other bands (Disbelief, Fleshcrawl and Undertow) but also in the audience (Flo and Antek – Good luck launching Nemesis Love Cult!) was pretty cooll! Playing in Reutlingen again after some years was nice too…Cheers to Casket and our buddies Jagger, Schenk and Bomber for the fun halloween evening! Oh and i shouldn’t forget the killer day at Way Of Darkness festival in Lichtenfels!
Seeing and meeting up again with Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, Obscura and many more was FUN and wow, what a huge amount of people and good drinks, hahaha! This one ruled and we can’t wait to come back!

Most recently, DEW-SCENTED has been spending time incarcerated in the rehearsal room bunker working on new material for the next album. We did some really good studio pre-production recordings in the Summer and are now soon to complete the songwriting for our 8th studio release! We have booked Soundlodge Studios for February 2010 and will have Jörg Uken (God Dethroned, Obscenity, Despondency, Sinister, etc) work on getting us the heaviest sound possible. Jörg hasn’t only already worked with D-S numerous times before as our live-sound engineer but he also recorded „Incinerate“. That said, the quality he reached on the new pre-production kills all the way!!! The new material is turning out really strong…very direct, refreshing and of course super aggressive! We nailed down 2 new songs this weekend and now there’s only another couple of songs left to go. We have also finally agreed on the choice of bonus cover songs. Expect some cool surprises…

Some new song titles? „Arise From Decay“, „Artificial Life“, „Condemnation“, „Revel In Contempt“ are some of the first confirmed…

Hey everybody,

Bad news and a gentle warning: The Rock City open air festival (http://www.myspace.com/rockcityf) that Dew-Scented was scheduled to be part of this coming weekend in Romania is NOT taking place! While “postponing” doesn’t mean much to us at this stage without knowing further details, we can only point out that we are extremely disappointed by this unfortunate turn of events! Especially frustrating is the fact that it wasn’t the first time we were let down on a Romanian event this year…it wasn’t fun at all to see Dew-Scented announced to be part of a another festival in February 2009 alongside Sepultura and The Sorrow without actually been (booked) there to play. So yeah, as much as we would like to come over and finally debut playing live in Romania, it just simply doesn’t seem to be happening! And it’s not even any of our fault!

In slightly better news: We had an amazing run of shows this Summer and would like to thank everyone who helped us with the gigs or who came out to share a good evening with us! While we are still spending most of our time working on new material right now (sounding sweet, btw!), we have some few shows coming up later this year which we look forward to! Promoters interested in booking Dew-Scented for 2010, please get in touch with us asap since we are already well underway with next year’s calendar! Ehhhr, but please only contact to book us if you actually really plan to make a show happen ;-)

Hellau!

So what’s the news?! Well, we keep working and thrashing, basically!? ;-)

The year 2009 started out with some cool shows (special “thank you” to the people at Hard Metal fest in Portugal for having us!) and we would like to mention that we appreciate everybody of you for the continued support as well as for giving the new guys in the band a fine welcome. Cheers!

For the time being, we’ll mainly remain “quiet” on the surface, as we are currently focused on working on new songs. And we’ll spend as much time and energy as demanded to make the new material turns out killer! We will do some basic pre-production in June, so we will probably be able to tell you
some more by then…

We will still be playing some shows casually as well of course. Next up and this week: A first-ever trip to Greece where we will play two shows…

Hey Thrashers…!

Been silent here for too long….

We wanted to bring to your attention that DEW-SCENTED’s line-up underwent major changes earlier this year, as the people who have met us or seen us live ever since will probably have noticed!? But we never really officially announced things…until now:

After long years of co-operating fruitfully, it was time for a change and consequently we parted ways with guitarplayers Florian Müller and Hendrik Bache. It just happened to become the best of choices for the band’s future. We did immediately enter an intense rehearsal period to get the band regrouped smoothly and were lucky to quickly find a highly motivated and extremely talented new guitar-duo with Michael Borchers and Martin Walczak. Welcome on board, dudes! Adding up to the work behind closed doors, we also tracked down a new steady drummer in Marc-Andrée Dieken, finally ending a lengthy time of uncertainty and session drummers. Marc is surely a “familiar” face to some of you as he already helped us out as live-drummer for a while back in 2004 and also he played together with bassplayer Alex for death metallers Obscenity.
